We Thank You, Lord, for Wes Welker

The existence of Wes Welker (8 catches for 64 yards) is ample proof, if any more were needed, that God is alive and well and loves New England. Great games by Tom Brady (25 of 35 for 258 yards and three touchdowns, two to Welker), Gary Guyton (59-yard interception return) and Brandon Tate (97-yard runback of the second-half kickoff) remove what little doubt could possibly remain that Foxborough is the fabled city on the hill. At least for Week One of the 2010 season.

Winning is always the primary goal but any time that T.O. and Ochocinco (who've nicknamed themselves Batman and Robin because apparently no amount of attention or self-promotion is enough) are reduced to irrelevance, I can't help but be glad that football season is finally here.
